Sadly, one lady
told us that a neighbour who had made it through Hurricane Matthew, but was
without power, fell asleep last night and left a candle burning. It set fire to
her house. She lost everything and nearby neighbours nearly lost their homes
too.
I haven’t had a
chance to post here about North Andros and Grand Bahama, but they are suffering
much more than most of New Providence . I will try to jot down news about those
other islands as I hear it and report back here.
So sad about the woman who, after the hurricane, lost her home. Thankfully though, she still has her life.

DeleteAll day I've been irritated by the noise from our road being dug up – this rather puts my 'problem' into perspective.
ReplyDeleteWe all get reminders like this, Patsy, from time to time. I thank God every day now that we wake up to a dry house with power and water, while so many out there barely have a roof over their head or even dry ground beneath their feet.
